Alamiya Filmed Entertainment is accepting applications for our inaugural online workshop June 10-14 2024. “The Art of Adaptation: True Stories, Literature, Graphic Novels & Beyond” is a masterclass where writers and producers will use their own passion projects to explore the creative and legal considerations that go into adapting an existing story for the big screen. Upon their acceptance, participants will be expected to watch a number of films that will be discussed in session. Turning a pre-existing story into a great movie can be a deceptively difficult process, but movies built on existing IP (true stories, comic books, novels, children’s books) dominate the box office. The goal of this four-day course is to reverse engineer success and demystify the screenwriting process.
